Title: Metamorphosis of Survival
Every work of art carries a part of the artist’s soul, but this particular piece is a testament to profound healing and transformation.
As I painted this canvas, my brush became the extension of my own experience. It was an act of intimate communion with the muse guiding me, allowing me to pour into it the process of restoring my scars.
This work was born from the journey after breast cancer and the loss of my breasts. I could feel how the painting helped me transform that pain into a unique and resilient beauty, following the philosophy of Japanese Kintsugi.
Kintsugi is the art of repairing broken pottery with lacquer dusted with powdered gold. It does not hide the fracture, but illuminates it, understanding that scars are part of the object’s history and make it stronger and more valuable.
Thus, what was perceived as a “breakage” has been transformed into a piece of incalculable artistic and personal value. This painting is proof that the human being can take the most difficult experiences and transform them into a manifestation of unparalleled beauty and power.

La Revelación del Kintsugi: Renacer en el Lienzo
Cada obra de arte lleva consigo una parte del alma del artista, pero esta pieza en particular es un testimonio de sanación y transformación profunda.
Al pintar este lienzo, mi pincel se convirtió en la extensión de mi propia experiencia. Fue un acto de comunión íntima con la musa que me guiaba, permitiéndome volcar en ella el proceso de restauración de mis cicatrices.
Esta obra nació del camino recorrido tras el cáncer de seno y la pérdida de mis senos. Pude sentir cómo la pintura me ayudaba a transformar ese dolor en una belleza única y resiliente, siguiendo la filosofía del Kintsugi japonés.
Kintsugi es el arte de reparar la cerámica rota con laca espolvoreada con polvo de oro. No esconde la fractura, sino que la ilumina, entendiendo que las cicatrices son parte de la historia del objeto y lo hacen más fuerte y valioso.
Así, lo que fue percibido como una “rotura” se ha convertido en una pieza de incalculable valor artístico y personal. Esta pintura es la prueba de que el ser humano puede tomar las experiencias más difíciles y transformarlas en una manifestación de belleza y poder inigualables.
